STAND BY ME.

Invention:

In order for Playing for Change to create the Stand By Me music video, he needed to find talented street musicians around the world. With this in mind, he had to travel to these countries to meet these artist and each visit took time. Playing for Change needed to save money for traveling expenses, the equipment to record each of these artist perform the song, along with those who were hired to help to put the music video together.

Disposition:

The music video starts in California and Louisiana with Roger Ridley and Grandpa Elliott. The video then leaves the U.S and goes to the Netherlands where the third singer is Clarence Bekker, is introduced. These are the three main singers in the music video who are continuously shown throughout it. After these artist are introduced, the video goes to the other musicians that are located around the world. Towards the end of the music it ends back where it started. The variety of countries in the music video argue that: no matter where you are or who you are we as a whole stand as one.

Style:

Playing for Change chose the song Stand by Me, which is a very popular, old classic song and has been modified in many ways by several different artist. The lyrics to this are simple and catchy. The video created intimacy with the viewers by showing each of these artist home, even though their actual homes were not shown. It was not hard to see that each of these artist love their city or country they live in.

Memory:

Playing for Change chose very specific musicians, Ones with powerful voices who help deliver the message and others with strong talent with their instruments.

Delivery:

Playing for Change used music as a globe way to spreed a message. Music is everywhere, and almost everyone is listening to music. The music language is not only easily accessible, but also easily understood. Which is why using music to get a message across might have been better than doing a speech or using just an image. Playing for Change also used a music video which may not be as popular now but when the video was released, music videos where very popular. They chose people who wherein sync with the song and helped pass the message along in the video.
