intro:
The debate about using animals for our medical advances has been ongoing for years. Over a hundred-million vertebrate animals, which include rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, farm animals and non-human primates, are used for these advances, in which some have been successful and other have failed. This does not include the animals excluded from the Animal Welfare Act (AWA)*, which do not have to be reported. It is a definite line between our needs and the taking advantage of those species that we consider inferior. Animal testing should be outlawed due to alternative solutions, unreliable test results, and most importantly the lack of animal rights.
